Masala Pot – Multicuisine Restaurant

A trip to Masala Pot will remind you of many multicuisine concepts from India serving traditional favorites with great taste!

This revamped restaurant has a lot to offer with good taste and friendly service. We called for dishes that were recommended and did not regret it one bit. Considering it has so many dishes to offer, the taste of the food is good and can satisfy a craving if someone is nearby.

We were given the Masala Chaas as a welcome drink which is a drink made of yoghurt with some spices in it. It was a bit spicy but delicious however if you don’t like ginger bits, you can ask them to omit that. They say however, that ginger is good for health, so i gulped my drink down with it.

For starters we opted for the Hara Bhara Kabab which was soft and crumbly but tasted crispy and wasn’t oily. It came on a bed of mint chutney and was fresh with decent flavors.

We were also given a Paneer starter which was presented very nicely over a bowl of a mix of mint chutney and tamarind chutney alongside strips of papad. These were easy to eat and i loved the way it was presented. They tasted good as well and i would definitely recommend this. Grilled pieces of Paneer Tikka with grilled capsicum and grilled onion made for an appetizing starter.

After relishing this, we moved on to the main course which consisted of butter naan and a Dum Aloo gravy. I was kind of expecting the Dum Aloo to come as round koftas but it came as chunks of potato in thick red gravy. It tasted pretty decent and went well with the butter naan.

We also called for a signature cocktail juice which i thought was just about okay as it had too much pulp in it. It was however squeezed fresh in their live station and juices with pulp are better than those without for health reasons but i prefer mine to be smooth flowing.

We ended our meal with a soft gulab jamun which was decent. It wasn’t made boiling hot which was great as I feel you tend to lose sense of the flavours once too hot.

In all honesty, i am quite glad this has been revamped with a new management who are focused on the quality of their food. Knowing it’s so close to my home, I am definitely going to be calling in for deliveries often to quickly satisfy my tastebuds when i am in the mood to order a variety of multicuisine dishes.
