How does a small cafe and eatery become so popular? ‘Cos they bring all the flavors of the world together and conceptualize it into the remarkable food they serve, that’s how!
Rabiee Al Shaay in Ajman’s University City has proven the world wrong! The fact that you need to be a brand doesn’t exist in their dictionary and people from far and beyond have gone to have their food. They may be a small joint with no place to sit but they make up for that in the food they serve and their warm service.
What you MUST have here are the Dynamite Fries (AED 15) – Made with melted cheddar cheese, spicy ranch, crispy onion, jalapeno and sour cream (i asked them to remove the beef sauce), these fries are the mother of all fries and have the perfect crunch to it. The combination of all these flavours makes the trip to ajman worthwhile!
Pink Penne Pasta (AED 35) – aksed them to omit the prawns and they made me the perfect pink sauce pasta. It was as good as any mid-eat Italian restaurant and i was more than happy with the way it was made and served. For the price, it comes as a huge serving and can be happily shared by 3 if you are eating a variety of dishes. The sauce was thick and not watery and was a balanced mix of tomato and cream sauce.
Omani Chips Roll (AED 4) – For this price, this was a huge portion served with a side of mayo. However, i would suggest you to opt for the Kerela Paratha instead of the wrap. The wrap kinds made it dry and hard to eat. The softness of the paratha would go perfectly with this combination.
Cheetos Slider (AED 30) – This price is for a chicken cheetos burger which is what is pictured below but i asked them if in the future they would make it without the chicken and they were more than happy to oblige. My sister said the flavours were divine and so even without a patty I am sure the combination of cheetos, melted cheese, original salt, pickles and lettuce served in a potato bun. It looked so good, i just had to picture it.
Sushi Crepe (AED 26) – This uber divine dessert is made from scratch in front of your eyes and the process is exhilarating. From the making of the crepe, to the stuffing of the brownies, to the final design on top with white chocolate, all you can do is hold your breath in to see how beautifully it comes together and go to heaven at the first bite! This is heavy and can be easily shared after all that food and a real sugar rush.
Fro drinks we had the Blue Passion (AED 13) which was refreshing and tangy and Nutella Shake (Aed 18) which was very heavy and quite sweet. It’s a meal in itself 🙂
The place may be small but the ceiling is done artfully with bottles hanging.
A trip down here is really worthwhile. You and your friends will squeal with excitement at how good everything is and go back longing for more.
