What can a vegetarian possibly eat in a Seafood specialty restaurant, I wondered? But a trip to Mahesh proved me wrong! SO WRONG!
I recommend this restaurant very HIGHLY for vegetarian food. Especially for the fact that they specialize in seafood but still know how to do their vegetarian right! I have been wanting to visit Mahesh for the longest time ever to try their evegetarian options but was always very skeptical. And now i am so glad i did. While my family can dig into delicacies from the ocean, i can happily fill my stomach with their yummy veg food.
From the orange juice to the soup, i was already impressed with both items. It felt like you were transported back to India and had that typical taste which made me very happy. The orange juice was super refreshing and my soup with a smiley filled my heart with happiness and my stomach with warmth.
For starters we had the veg platter which consisted of Tandoori Paneer, Tandoor Potatoes Grilled Corn and Marinated Tandoori Broccoli. I loved the potatoes the most! The paneer was very soft and succulent and i am not a big fan of broccoli so i skipped that but my friend told me she loved it.
The other appetizer which was a Chilli Paneer was SO GOOD! This is not for the faint hearted. It was spicy and very typical Indo-chinese bursting with delicious flavours with every bite. The paneer was really soft and all that coating of spices really enhanced the flavors of the dish.
Now for my main course I opted for the Aloo Gobhi. Very honestly, I always hope this favourite dish of mine will be made with a thick gravy and have small pieces of potatoes and cauliflower cooked to perfection but no one ever seems to get it right! I was SO SO HAPPY to see it not only made to perfection but also taste amazing! The potatoes and cauliflower were both soft and the gravy was thick and mouth-watering. I enjoyed it a lot with my garlic naan.
The final part to my amazing meal was the Kulfi which again was very, very good. I was surprised at how you could actually taste the flavours of the kulfi as most restaurants don;t concentrate on high quality desserts.
They had a crab festival going on and the ceiling decor was very cute.
If you are a seafood fanatic, go here and if you have a vegetarian accompanying you then trust me, they will be very well taken care of.
