La Tablita, a vibrant and lively Mexican restaurant brought to life with a quintessential Taco Shop experience. Theatrical live cooking and a passionate team of native Mexicans both in the culinary and service teams enliven the Mexican culture of shared dining, entertaining and celebrations.
La Tablita’s team has curated a menu of Mexican favourites with dishes which are full of light, fresh tastes; deep, complex flavours and earthy notes. The food at La Tablita takes inspiration from traditional tastes and recipes presented in a contemporary style.
After being greeted very warmly, we entered the restaurant and the decor livened our senses! You will feel like you have entered another land as the interiors and setup overtake any pre-notions you might have had.
Our server was extremely friendly and we left it completely to the Chef to surprise us. And surprise he did! We started with some Virgin Mojito which were sweet and refreshing and completely in sync with what you should get in a Mexcian Restaurant.
Soon after came the MOST AMAZING GUACAMOLE. The avocados are flown down every 2 weeks from Mexico and were the tastiest i have ever had. I don’t even like avocados. And I kept telling the chef to make a smaller portion. Thank God he didn’t! I finished almost half the dish by myself. The tanginess of lemon, fresh tomatoes, chopped onions, coriander and spices made it unbelievable good in taste!
Then we were served CREMA CONDE, a Mexcian Bean Soup which was something I had never tried. Super healthy and unique, it came in a jar and and was poured into a ball consisting of a few condiments.
After this we were given 2 soft tacos – one with funghi mushrooms mixed with sweet corn and one with griddled paneer cheese and salsa verde. They were very unique and honestly I have never tasted tacos like these before. They take some getting used to for sure but were good vegetarian options.
The Enchiladas served were the best! Loaded with cheese and made in a green sauce, they were scrumptious and came in a sizzling pan. Honestly one of the best I have ever had and the portion size was perfect too.
We also got to try authentic Mexican Tequila which are of 2 kinds. The one which reads 100% Agave is sealed in Mexico and is to be had slowly after squeezing some lime inside your mouth and then topping it with bloody mary which includes grenadine. It was an exhilarating experience as this Tequila is not to be taken as a shot and is to be sipped on slowly. The other Tequila is what you find in bars and clubs mostly to be had like a shot.
The desserts included the crispiest and tastiest Churros i have ever experienced with caramel sauce and they were delectable.

However the Tres Leches was something I have never had in Dubai! Atleast not this good.Vanilla sponge cake with Jalapeno ice cream came drenched in a beautiful milky syrup and will blow your mind!
After our wonderful experience, the chef was also kind enough to give us some Mexican sweets as a Thank You gesture and they came clipped on the cutest structure! I loved the hospitality and how warm everyone was. Definitely the friendliest staff I have met in a long time!
We were also lucky to see their Tango Night which took place only for that day. It was a very lively night with Tango dancers twirling the night away!
The dishes are served for sharing and mingling, made with ingredients true to Chef Carlos and Daniel’s passion for fresh and artisan products and a love of family-style eating – using as many as 16 types of chillies and avocadoes imported from Mexico. The dynamic floor and ceiling design leads into space which adds drama and surprise and is for guests who enjoy active social eating and entertaining.
The ambience exudes the energy, liveliness and vibrance of Mexican culture with a mix of private booths, commune tables for groups and an expansive bar. Highly recommended!
