Pizza may be simple food. But to make that simpleness into something delicious requires art.
What i really liked about Pitfire was it’s warm service and the pizza base which is not always as good. Even after we took our own sweet time to take so many pics, the crust of the pizza had not become soggy. It was crispy and enhanced the flavour of the pizza.
We started off with the Garlic Knots which were delicious! Quite buttery, but delicious all the same 🙂 They were soft bread baked as knots, brushed with garlic butter and served with a beautiful gorgonzola ranch dip.
Then we had the Mac and Cheese which was huge for a single portion size. It was decent and good for the kids. Was quite rich and creamy.
The highlight was definitely the pizza! I liked the fact that you could customize your pizza with 2 or more flavors.
Mine was customized with a Pitfire Primo on one side which was their signature pie. Roasted garlic base, fresh sliced mushrooms, chopped kalamata olives, mozzarella, fontina, goat cheese & parsley, topped with chopped fresh tomatoes after bake. This was REALLY GOOD! So flavourful and the beautiful crispy crust really added to the flavor. I don’t like mushrooms much but i absolutely loved this flavor. The goat’s cheese was velvety and beautiful and the base was brilliant.
On the other side was Summer Daze which was their cheese pizza with the added benefit of hand torn bocconcini cheese, baked and topped with chilled rocket, feta cheese and chopped tomato after it comes out of the oven. Light and delicious. The feta was amazing and i loved how simple the pizza was but bursting with flavors.
They even sell Jumbo slices which is amazing for those who want to have a light lunch or dinner by themselves.
For dessert we had Michele’s Apple Pie which is a Pitfire classic. Fresh apples spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, home-made crust and a buttery crumble topping. The manager served this to us in 2 halves, one half cold and one half warm. I was skeptical about the cold version but it was actually delicious!
The one to the right was the Caramel Slice which was a biscuit base with a hint of coconut, layered with chewy home-made caramel and topped with chocolate. This was quite nice for those who like fudgy desserts.
Overall, I would love to grab some pizzas from here or have them delivered when in the area. Their crust is definitely one of the best i have ever had!
