TRIBES is the realization of one man’s passion for all things African – from the cuisine to the music, art and design.
The menu has been inspired by the amazing food and flavours of Africa, an extremely diverse continent, with numerous tribes, who not only speak different languages, they also have very different foods, which they prepare and serve to their family and friends with a lot of pride.
Tribes offers a memorable fusion of exotic flavors, taken from the African continent since the Tribal era, influenced by the Spice Islands of the East, the French in the West, the Malay & Dutch in the South and the Arabic flavours of the North.
This branch is a place mainly for Carnivores, but when i was called for the launch, I was highly surprised to see a wide selection of vegetarian options in the dips, salads, and appetizers. There was so much variety, that you wouldn’t need main course. I absolutely loved the mashed potato served.
From the tangy drink, to the beetroot hummus, to the truffle mac and cheese, buttered corn and salads, everything was quite flavorful. Because it was a lunch, I didn’t get an opportunity to know if they had anything at all for a vegetarian in their main courses, however i believe they don’t. I was however not fussed as the salads and starters itself were good enough to keep my stomach happy.
The open kitchen and earthy rich colours enhance modern but traditional design elements throughout the restaurant. The views are also stunning from there.
In all, if a meat lover wishes to go here, you, as a vegetarian, will definitely not be left hungry.
