Saj Bistro – Simplicity is Tasty

What do you do when you want good healthy food which tastes delicious too? You head down to Saj Bistro!

There are a lot of great Middle Eastern options in Dubai but not all of them serve fresh, flavourful food round the clock. Saj Bistro is open 24 hours and I was surprised looking at the menu. It had options from Breakfast to Desserts and did not only concentrate on Saj.

What we had (from L-R)

Spinach and Feta Omlette – AED 36 – Pretty simple and no fuss, this omlette tasted great! The feta was velvety and the spinach was cooked just right. It came with a side of amazing wedges, some fruit, and toast. It was perfect for breakfast!

Quinoa Salad – AED 34 – Arugula, cherry tomatoes, pine nuts, dried figs, quinoa, onions, tossed in a light tahini-vinaigrette. The best part about this salad was the dressing and how fresh the veggies were! This salad is a big enough portion to fill one up and honestly the dressing was way too good! I just wish the pine nuts were lesser. But for someone who likes them, they are in for a treat.

Eggs & Potatoes Skillet – AED 28 – Scrambled eggs, diced potatoes and mixed herbs. For a potato lover like me, this is a good dish for breakfast. However i wish the spices were a bit more as it was lacking a bit in flavour. It was served with 2 wraps and could be had however you liked, as a wrap, or just by itself.

Veggie Roll – AED 29 – Arugula, Baby Spinach, Peppers, figs, goat cheese, pomegranate vinaigrette. If there is one healthy dish i could eat everyday, it will be this! It was super! Bursting with flavour and the veggies were grilled to perfection.

Akawi Cheese Manakeesh – AED 12 – Served face up like a pizza, this simple yet delicious dish was to satisfy any cheese cravings you may have!

For dessert we had the Lotus Waffle (AED 21) which was honestly one of the most delicious Lotus desserts I have had, I know the world is crazy about Lotus but i find it a bit too sweet when mixed with dessert. The best part about this one was, it wasn’t sweet and I could actually finish the entire thing!

I really liked everything about this place! The relaxed ambiance, the warm service, the fresh food and the fact that it is open 24 hours!
