I love all things quirky! Quirky food, quirky interiors and homegrown concepts which stick to basic menus with good quirky food! Sol is all about that and worth the drive to Sharjah from Dubai.
The wall graffiti is beautiful and i love how it blends so well with the food. Their menu is more non veg oriented but they will happily oblige to remove the meat. I tried the Fajita Roll which was grilled vegetables like Green and Red Capsicum with Garlic Cream and Avocado Tarator in a soft potato bun. OMG that bun is to die for! It makes the roll delicious and very easy to bite into. That Garlic Cream on top is beautiful on the palette. From the pic below, it’s the bun in the middle.
Then came their mad Batata W Shawarma Fries! I of course had them without the Shawarma (arabic meat) and was left with the best fries i have come across in Dubai. The were loaded with cheddar cheese, fried onions and jalapenos. Their fries have some kind of spice on them and so does their cheese. The combination was a lovely sensation to the tastebuds and i can drive to sharjah anytime for these!
Sol became a sensation because of their crazy Freakshakes and we couldn’t stop ourselves from having one. We tried the crazy Snickers and M&M shake which had the most luscious whipped cream on top. The shake is a meal in itself where with every sip you will get the goodness of snickers and is great if you opt for it by itself. It gets a bit heavy with a full meal. However, there is no way you should be leaving without having one of those!
The restaurant is spaced out and has an open kitchen concept so you see your food being made right in front of you. The walls are stunning and an art lovers paradise.
Service is friendly and you will have fresh food made for you within minutes. It’s a hidden (not so hidden as its on the main road :)) gem.
