One of the most vegetarian friendly, easy to choose brunches I have been to recently is the newest Prohibition Brunch at Bazxar in DIFC.
An extremely trendy place with a wall full of street graffiti and a casual dining space at one end, a bar in the centre and a more sophisticated dining area at the other end, Bazxar is one place where Friday brunch goers would want to be spotted at.
A set menu from which you can decide your dishes, we tried the Crispy Mac n Cheese and Aubergine Bao for the Starters.
I absolutely loved the Crispy Mac and Cheese Balls stuffed with a delicious blend of cheese but not overpowering the macaroni. It was addictive and you can’t stop at one.
The Bao on the other hand was healthy and in complete contrast to the Mac n Cheese Balls. It was light and tasty and a good option for those who are conscious about their diets.
From the Entrees, I tried the Burrata Pizza which was so so luscious! It was a tickle to the tastebuds and best when had hot. With a crispy base and mouth watering cheese, you will be saddened if you have only one piece.
By the time we reached Mains, we were pretty stuffed but of course couldn’t stop ourselves from trying what was on their menu. We opted to have the Huevos Rancheros which was as beautiful to look at as it was in taste. A true Mexican feast, this dish can easily be shared by 2 or 3 after the starters and entree.
The dessert selection was the best! Mini Nutella Freakshakes named as “Get your Freak On” consisted of pretzels, crunchy kit kat and nutella ice cream. It was a milkshake lovers dream.
The Explosion Cheesecake and Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich were unique and not something you often see in brunches. I loved the mint ice cream between the cookies presented as a cookie sandwich. It was scrumptious.
The brunch may be a wee bit pricey considering it’s a set menu and not a buffet with all you can eat options, but considering the vibe and popularity of the place, i would say it’s a must try for the food options served.
