Ichikura joins the long list of Japanese restaurants in Dubai. But what makes this different? Find out below!
Firstly, it is situated in a food court of a mall. You don’t really find any Japanese food joints serving food from a food court so having this in a mall becomes a plus point.
Secondly, it may be in a food court, but don’t judge it by that! This place serves food as good as any Japanese casual restaurant you might go to and that too at unbeatable prices.
Thirdly and most importantly, the price for the quality of food served is AMAZING! Really good quality and quantities too.
So what did i try? Here goes:
Gyoza – Pan fried dumplings served with a dipping sauce and with a filling of mashed edamame. Ah so good! The filling was just perfect. So flavourful and perfectly minced.
Vegetable Tempura – Battered and deep fried served with a dipping sauce. They were crispy on the outside and delish! Even better than what I have had in some restaurants around Dubai.
Yasai Kare Ramen – Crispy fried yasai mixed with mushrooms in a vegetable noodle soup. This dish took me by surprise. It was so flavourful and a perfect tingle to the tastebuds. The owner was absolutely right when he said ramen is the most popular dish here.
Yakisoba – Grilled noodles prepared with thick home made sauce and vegetables. I loved the touch of mayo to this. It added a unique spike to the noodles and tasted amazing.
Veggie Uramaki – Mango, cucumber and creamy avocado sushi. Do you know what bliss it is for a vegetarian to find good sushi? Tat’s exactly how i felt when i ate this. I couldn’t believe i was not eating this in a high end resto.
Firstly, so many options in veg! I was blown away by the sheer quantity of items. And to top it off, they tasted so darn good. I think i will just be making trips down to Ibn Battuta for this! They really need to have another branch at the other end of town. However if you love Japanese food, please do try it! They delivery as well 🙂
