Ananta, The Oberoi – Dubai Meets Hyderabad

The restaurants at The Oberoi, Dubai guarantee to satisfy discerning palates. Ananta, is one of it’s finest, where guests can indulge in fine-dining Indian cuisine and enjoy traditional recipes.

I was invited to preview their live cooking experiences which can also be booked by their guests leading to a private dinner. Till the 3rd of Feb, you can enjoy Hyderabadi cuisine and the sensational signature dishes of Chef Saraj Khan. His Kacche Gosht Ki Biryani might be extremely famous, but the vegetarian dishes were nothing short of spectacular!

While I looked upon the way the biryani was being made and making notes so I could cook the same for my husband, I realised, the finesse with which this was being prepared, can only be done by a renowned chef. For that wee moment i hoped i was non-vegetarian as it would be impossible to make it with so much commitment back home with my crazy schedule. So, my 2nd mental note was to bring my hubby here so he could indulge while i enjoyed the fine aromas.

Below is a picture of Chef Saraj while he smilingly prepared amazing Hyderabadi food for all of us. (This pic has been borrowed from Mark My World)

I started with some delicious Lassi and poppadums while we waited for the food to arrive.

My appetizer board consisted of a velvety Paneer Achari Tikka, an extremely flavourful Hara Bhara Kabab and a Vegetable Seekh Kabab which was one of the best i have come across.

Even though i couldn’t enjoy the biryani, i thoroughly soaked in the aromas and was happy. My veg Hyderabadi Thali (priced at AED 330) was nothing short of extraordinary.

When #Hyderabad meets #Dubai, this is what happens 🥒🥕🥔 . Guys!!! Have you ever had a #Hyderabadi #Thali 😍😍😍 Even if you have, I bet it will not be as good as this one from @ananta.bytheoberoi in @oberoidubai ✨✨✨ . Exclusively available from 26th Jan till 3rd Feb, you #MUST go have these rich flavours and the Kacche Gosht Ki Biryani if you are a #NonVegetarian 🍚 I didn't eat it but the aromas were amazing 😻And from the way @taqato @dubaigirl.taqato @markmyworldblog @sanaonfood @neelu1028 were going #Ooh and #Aah, I am sure it tasted as amazing 👌 . Raita, Curry, Paneer, Eggplant, Mix Vegetables and Daal with a yummy piece of bread, you can’t go wrong with this! It was heavy but beyond delicious and I don;t think I have ever indulged in Hyderabadi cuisine the way I did here.

For desserts, the Shahi Tukda is a MUST! It was even better than what I have had back in Lucknow. It was so good that I didn’t really pay attention to the rest 🙂 We ended our meal with the most beautiful Sulaimani Tea which was a mix of Indian spices, mint and lime. It was one to be devoured.

After seeing the cooking and food, I am sure every person in there had a new found respect for chefs and acknowledged that cooking is truly art. Do not miss out on experiencing this Thali and the Biryani as it is available as of now only till the 3rd of Feb 2017.
