The heart of Sharjah Art Foundation art space has found it’s beat. It is well said that a way to a persons heart is through their stomach, which is Fen’s case will undoubtedly be its high quality food.
Capturing the very quintessence of the vivacious, sparkling Sharjah, the new Fen café boasts of modernistic food in a cultural environment. And this is where I came across the real gold. It’s true treasure is its complete fusion menu which you can swear by.
Owing to its rustic interiors, an area that spreads outdoor, a cafe and a small library, it’s a bounty for kids and elders alike. Launched in Sharjah since March this year, the café has a plethora of cuisines, drinks, salads, soups and desserts.
I felt welcomed in this relaxed ambience which looked conventional from the outside. The interiors are rustic and the seating is plush. This place is divine without any shadow of doubt.
Steeping inside here gives you a peace of mind, because of it’s location. The warmth of the welcoming staff and the beginning note of our visit was watermelon and orange juice. I assure you, it was the perfect kick start to a bright day. Just what my taste buds needed. Alongside, a side of crisps were served which were addictive and so healthy.
Then came this lip smacking bowl of pumpkin soup. I’m counting on this soup for winters too, because I’ll be here then to savour the warmth of it. Then came the fresh salads. The very classic Caeser salad consisted of parmesan shavings and Romaine lettuce. Another salad of shaved fennel and rocket was with fresh peach and a citrus yogurt dressing. Just the way a healthy salad should be. It satisfied all lingering taste buds.
Enjoying the natural light through the windows, I chose to relish on Zaru Soba noodle and Spicy Spaghetti for my mains. The spaghetti was beautifully adorned with some micro greens and fresh vegetables. Served in appropriate proportions, the presentation of all food items complimented the ambience. What added to the charm was the classic selection of taste with the pleasant surroundings.
Almost full by now, but there is always some room for dessert. After the very scrumptious main course, was time for some mouth watering dessert. Red velvet cupcake and the blueberry cupcakes were decent, but the peanut butter and oreo cookies were to die for.
An absolutely lovely spot to dine in, this casual restaurant will soon be Sharjah’s favorite spot.
