Crumbs Elysee – A Step Back in Time

With candle style lamps hanging on the roof above along with wooden style lanterns, Crumbs Elysee gives a modern yet antique dining experience. Giving a rustic yet royal European feel to diners in house, Crumbs serves the best of desserts, snacks and lip smacking dishes.

The place is brightly lit up, great for a small gathering with your loved ones or to simply hang out with friends alike. The ambience is impeccable and so are the dishes. Somehow, I found the place good for even spending some quality time alone, taking some time away from the bustling workspace and maybe just reading a nice book or magazine over a few delicious snacks and a chilled drink. What else can better give you respite in the scorching Dubai heat.

Beauty of food and presentation has always attracted me. The spacious outlet offered me some of the best delicacies available on their menu. The hummus, creamy and well decorated, was finished to every last bite. Tabbouleh is a cold salad served with tomatoes, parsley and mint chopped finely. This fresh and healthy salad was the next thing I devoured.

Then came the Sambousek cheese, a dish that has plain flour shell, crisp fried golden brown and is filled with creamy cheese. This Lebanese snack is perfect for the Ramadan season, as it is very filling. It sometimes also comes with a variety of cheese filling and olives in it. Spicy potato, which came on a bed of a crust of parmesan cheese, was pretty interesting.

The Crumbs pasta pizza is a definite call for pizza and pasta lovers. Why? Because it has an exciting variation of toppings. You will know it once you try it and you must try this pizza once. I bet it is very different than all pizza’s you have tried.

The spinach and goat cheese ravioli, a classic savory dish, was aromatic. It’s a simple and comforting food, served hot with any choice of toppings, like sage butter or lime. Crumbs have one of the best Sheesha in Dubai. Also, one of the best desserts I have ever had was brought in next. A spherical white chocolate ball had a hidden treasure in it. As the hot sweet liquid was poured on it, it opened like a blooming white flower, only to reveal its secret delicious chocolate fondant topped with ice cream.  I couldn’t take my eyes off it. It was a visual treat indeed. The Crème Brulee was appetizing as well.
