Crafted Blends – Good Vibes in the University District of Sharjah

Located on the bustling outskirts of Sharjah amidst a cluster of other food joints, Crafted Blends stands out uniquely.

Be it a mix of flavors or the cozy interiors, the place has got all it takes to be one of the best café’s in town.  There is a bond created through the kind of interiors used. The place is much popular amongst the youth. It has got an unperturbed vibe to it. The tranquility of the ambience will surprise you, and same goes for the taste of the food. The food served here is worth every single penny spent. It is served in generous quantities, and makes you feel full. The portions served are good enough for one person to finish off completely or for two to share.

My food journey here included the Japanese cheese balls, which were a part of the appetizers. It had coarsely grated cheddar, Monterey jack cheese, jalapeno and hot sauce wrapped in nori sheets. Nori sheets are an essential part of Japanese sushi and also used for some Korean cuisines. They are made of edible seaweed. These cheese balls were deep fried and heavenly.

The penne pomodoro basilico that I savored had penne obviously which was tossed in pink sauce, topped with beautiful sundried tomatoes , baby spinach, ricotta and mozzarella cheese. I asked them to exclude the spinach. This pasta was creamy, cheesy, soft and oh-so-gorgeous. I loved every bite of it. Also because it is one of crafted blends specials, it is a must have. The chilli cheese fries were a bit on the hotter side, but they were mouthwatering. I just could not stop at one.

The best part I tried was the Saffron Milk Cake. Served as a soft sponge with fresh cream and a few saffron strands, this comes with a side of saffron milk which can be poured over the cake. Priced at only AED 18, this marvelous cake is worth the calories!

Not trying to sound repetitive, but this quirky place offered us some delicious appetizers and mouth watering dishes, of course not to forget the ice cold brew caramel latte. The menu is equally zestful. It is indeed a great place to eat food and create memories, if going in with friends. With so many funky cafés mushrooming around, it is a great deal to stand out in terms of looks, ambience, taste and service.
